Retired track and field superstar Usain Bolt is scheduled to make an appearance in South Africa at the Ruimsig Stadium in Johannesburg next week on Monday, January 29th. His appearance will be an inspiration to the more than 500, 000 youth and junior athletes between the ages of 14-19 years at high school level in South Africa.

Usain Bolt dominated in the men’s 100m to earn title of “world’s fastest man” in the finals at the 2012 Olympics in London. Bolt’s Jamaican training partner Yohan Blake got the silver medal and Justin Gatlin won the bronze for the USA. Usain Bolt set an Olympic record in the race with a time of 9.63
Usain Bolt defended his Olympic title and has won the gold in the men’s 100m in back to back Summer Olympics. In the 2008 Olympics, Bolt won Olympic gold medals in both the 100m and 200m sprints. He is looking repeat this accomplishment once again in the 2012 Olympics as he prepares for the 200m.

Yohan Blake is a Jamaican sprinter to watch out for in 2012. Yohan Blake was born on December 26, 1989 . He is listed at 5′ 11″ and 172 lbs. This track and field star athlete specializes in the men’s 100m and 200m sprints.
Yohan Blake is definitely one of the 2012 Olympic athletes to watch in London, England. Blake is the youngest athlete ever to win the World Championship in the men’s 100m surpassing the legendary Carl Lewis. Blake also beat world record holder Usain Bolt in both the 100m and the 200m at the 2012 Jamaican Olympic trials.

Usain Bolt will be running in the 100 meters at the Golden Spike meet in Ostrava scheduled for May 25. The race is part of the new IAAF World Challenge series.
Bolt will be racing in the 100 meters at a few European meets this year. The Golden Spike meet will be Bolt’s first meet of 2012 in Europe. It is reported that he will compete in Rome on May 31, and at another Diamond League meet in Oslo on June 7 before returning to Jamaica for the national trials for the London Olympics.
